Taras Feris, Ternopil

The Ukrainian national symbol is a Cossack. He is resolute, with an indomitable spirit, holding a sword in his hand, with which he impales the dragon as a symbol of evil. The golden sword and the key above the Cossack reflect the historical role of the region in the protection of Ukrainian lands. In the background is a shield that turns into a fortress with three battlements on the top.

It symbolizes the historical lands, parts of which form the modern Ternopil Region, Galychyna, Volyn, and Podillia, and where the largest number of castles of Ukraine is concentrated.
