Yuriy Pitchuk, Ivano-Frankivsk

The painting “Hutsulka” depicts a girl in a headdress and wrapped in a carpet, which are characteristic of the Hutsul region. A girl at sunrise looks towards the East with a determined and confident look.

The painting is a continuation of Yuri Pitchuk’s series of murals with Ukrainian women in ethnic clothing. There are murals of this series in Avdiivka, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Stryi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kosov, and Vorokhta. Everywhere the author depicts Ukrainian women in ethnic clothing from different regions of our country.
